CLOSE\STARE Compilation es una de esas acciones que pretende generar comunidad; descubrir, escuchar, compartir y devolver. Su fin último, es una devolución. Se ha configurado a través de las votaciones de nuestros socios, escuchando y seleccionando entre las 36 propuestas que llegaron con la Open Call que lanzamos el mes de Diciembre.

Esta selección bien podría ser una instantánea de los tiempos que vivimos. Con escasos momentos luminosos -que permitan exhalar lentamente el aire- y en los que predominan aquellos de respiración contenida y expectante ante la incertidumbre, la confusión o la inseguridad.

Así por ejemplo, es una bocanada fresca el shoegaze modular de Caradusanto con La NOni –un final que necesariamente es un hermoso comienzo-, el ambient sosegado y emocional de Nacho Román o la aparentemente naíf pero algo perversa Alene de Pablo Casares. Entre tanto el crepitar de reflejos digitales de David Mata, nos mantiene a la deriva. Los brillantes acordes de piano de Ánicoc se desnaturalizan según corre Ipso. En la narrativa de 0000 de Monocultivo se palpa la vida. Y aquí comienza a faltar el aire. No es casualidad que en los temas finales la improvisación y los experimentos electroacústicos tensen el músculo sonoro. Por ahí encontramos a Diego Flórez y The Cherry Blues Project, junto al turbio ambient orgánico de The Lacemaker. Cierra el comatoso echo interior de Hashigakari despojándonos del tiempo.

La edición digital contiene los 20 artistas seleccionados para la misma, más un bonus track; la sesión que dedicó a la compilación Javier Rey/Círculo de Sucesos en su Dentro del Círculo de Audiotalaia. Los beneficios obtenidos de la venta de la edición digital serán donados durante un año a ASIMA, organización elegida por el artista plástico Emmanuel Lafont, quien ha realizado una ilustración en exclusiva para la compilación.

Tras conversar con Emmanuel alrededor del tiempo, los ciclos vitales y compartir sensaciones -después de varios años sin encontrarnos- surgió el leitmotif Volvamos a perturbar el tiempo. Como ocurre con Lafont, la madeja se fue liando con mitología mexicana, un perro…

Resultado. Una preciosa y enigmática ilustración que ha sido impresa en Riso a cuatro tintas sobre un suave papel Munken ahuesado de 240gr. Acompaña además, un inlay estampado manualmente con lino grabado en Keaykolour Caliza de 170gr por el amigo The Lacemaker.

La secuenciación de los temas en el CD, ha sido realizada por kitty soul. Inestimable de nuevo la labor de Rubén Suárez dando nivel y un ligero tratamiento sonoro a esta secuencia sin modificar las intenciones de los artistas.
